This research showed that every four hours a child under 3 is treated in a ER for an injury caused by a baby bottle or Sippy cup. Also a different study showed us that 66,000 children have been treated in the ER since 1990 for battery related injuries on them.
Swallowing these small batteries that could be in an electronic toys or remote controls can be dangerous to young children, people at the ER told us that the batteries can get lodged in the esophagus and can lead to severe injuries or even death in less than two hours.
These are the stats on the injuries bottles (65.8%), followed by pacifiers (19.9%) and Sippy cups (14.3%). More than 86% of the injuries were caused by falls while using the products.
